Crunchyroll is an American publisher, distributor, creation, and licensing organization focused on streaming manga, anime, and dorama. Launching in 2006 by a group of Univ. of California-Berkeley, Crunchyroll’s dispersion channel and association program convey content to over 5 million join users globally. Crunchyroll was an auxiliary of Otter Media, which is an auxiliary of AT&T’s WarnerMedia United States.
Sony reported in Dec 2020 that its joint endeavor anime business Funimation, run by Sony Pictures TV and Sony Music Entertainment Japan’s Aniplex, would acquire Crunchyroll from AT&T for roughly US$1.175B; the fruition of the acquisition was declared on August 9, 2021. Crunchyroll has provided in San Francisco, Lausanne, Paris, Los Angeles, Lausanne, Chișinău, Tokyo, and Berlin, and is an individual of The (AJA) Association of Japanese Animations. “Crunchyroll Hime”, otherwise called “Hime”, is the real mascot of Crunchyroll.
